In 1994, the white minority was still involved in forcibly fighting black demonstrations, but almost all of the fighting filmed by the Bang Bang Club was black against black. The movie explains in a cursory way that the ANC was opposed by the Inkatha Freedom Party, consisting of Zulus who opposed Mandela’s mostly Xhosa membership.. The Bang Bang Club was the name given to four young photographers whose work captured the final bloody days of white rule in South Africa. The film tells the remarkable story of these young men and the extraordinary extremes they went to in order to capture their pictures.
