Qantas staff around the world – from cabin crew to checkin staff, lounge teams and baggage handlers – slipped into the airline’s chic new uniform this week. It’s only airline’s 11th uniform in its 93 year history, so what better time to take a stroll down a decades-long catwalk with this gallery of Qantas uniforms? Although Qantas was founded in 1920, our slideshow begins in 1948.. Ms O’Toole says Qantas’ use of capsule uniforms rather than gendered uniforms will still have some limitations.. The Qantas uniform has seen big changes over the years, with crew members decked.

Major change to Qantas uniforms revealed
New uniform fittings will begin in July, with all pilots wearing the new design by the end of 2016. More than 50 Qantas pilots along with cabin crew walked the fashion runway today to showcase the new uniforms to 400 guests. A special thank you to sponsors R.M. Williams, Christian Louboutin, Breitling, Kevin Murphy, Napoleon Perdis, Byron Bay.. Qantas is the most on-time domestic airline of the decade* – but we’d say it’s their other runway success that’s been the real star. We asked the man behind the current uniform, designer Martin Grant, to share his favourite looks from Qantas’ 94-year-old wardrobe. 2014 Martin Grant. My favourite part of the uniform is probably the trench.
